Nothings better than driving aimlessly down random lonely streets and finding yourself at the spot, you knew you were looking for all along.

I loved the colors here and also, the giant wooden spools.

And I really liked working with these ladies.

Big Thanks to Maja and Kaeli for exploring the area with me and trusting my instincts.

May is turning out to be quite a busy month for me and I hope it’s only a foreshadow of the summer to come… I’m through my early pregnancy months and very much ready to be more active with work and play (well, for me- work is my play).

Hey! I just wanted to share a few frames from my session with Alysia- a lovely young lady, I had the pleasure of working with.  I don’t like to share too many- so, these are all you get.

And in case you didn’t know, I started an alternative wordpress blog- and I’m loving it.  WordPress makes it easy to seek out blogs of your interest, for them to find you- and to have a better connectedness with those interested in the same things as yourself.  My other blog is called This Loud Voice, and I am using it to share more personal thoughts and related images.  Again, this site will only include portrait sessions and weddings, in my weekly posts.

I’m really excited to finish editing this collection of images- and I look forward to sharing!

I knew of just the spot, when they showed me their next outfits… and it all played out perfectly.

Maja and Kaeli spent several hours with me a few Sundays ago, and these are just some more of the photos we got from our time together.  If you scroll back on the blog, you can view some earlier posts featuring these two- with one more on the way.

Two out of four of our locations, were spots I already had in mind (this being one of them)- it just worked out that their outfits complimented them perfectly.  And the last and most random of the places we happened upon, was the best spot yet.  Photos from that location to come.

Thanks Maja and Kaeli, for being so awesome to work with.

There is a boy named Bishop, who lives more than just down the rode from me.  I met his mama, before our firstborns arrived and I’m happy we still keep in touch.

Bishop has an adorable older sister, who is going to help take great care of him and teach him all about the do’s and don’ts of toddler-hood.

Bishops folks are quite adept with the camera as well- you can see their good stuff HERE.

And here are some photos I took of this mama and her precious babies…

Have a lovely week!

Hello!  Hope everyone who has sunshine to enjoy today, gets to play in it at least for a little while.  I played in it this morning, but now it’s time to get things done- including, sharing a link to a new blog of mine.  I can share what it’s about here, or you can just head over there to find out.

I will only be posting my select work on this blog furthermore, so you won’t have to check back as often (not that I’ve been posting much anyway!)… so, you will only find portrait work and weddings on this blog from now on- no more personal stuff!

The blog is called ” This Loud Voice” and you can get to it here… and if you need it spelled out :)  http://thisloudvoice.wordpress.com

Hope all is well!!!

*this image was taken a few weekends back and I have lots more from that session to come- ain’t Maja gorgeous?

I

Love

These…

We walked along the tracks a ways, until we came to the colorful spot we had our eyes set on.  I realized right away, that the spot was perfect for Kaeli- but alone, not with her friend Maja.

I’m glad I spoke up and shot Kaeli by herself- these are magic (at least I think so :)

I had the pleasure of working with Maja and Kaeli last weekend- two ladies who were a breath of fresh air and so fun to photograph.  I have several rounds of posts to share of their images and I couldn’t wait any longer to share! Our first stop was at this blue warehouse that I drive by occasionally, but always think about using for a backdrop- and I’m so happy I followed my instincts on this one.

Both of these ladies are Portland natives and PSU students and lucky for me, they sometimes like to model in their free time.  I think they should keep it up.

Thanks ladies! I had a great time driving around and getting to know you a bit :)  a lot more photos to come!

Wishing everybody the best and the brightest.

* and yes, these are mostly of Maja, but Kaeli will be getting a post of her own- coming up!

This frame is from a shoot I had just this evening- a shoot that has rejuvenated me, just a bit :)

This session took place underneath the St. Johns bridge- a favorite place of mine.  I just wanted to share a glimpse, with more to come.

I just wanted to share a frame from a few weeks back.  I left it out of the set- thought it should be on it’s own.  Her smile made me smile- pink wig makes me smile too.

Hope everybody has a warm and happy week.  Or whatever kind of week you want, you know- it’s up to you.

I picked up my new postcards/business cards this afternoon and I’m so excited to finally be able to put myself out there this year- long over-due!  Oh, well- it’s never, never to late.

Bye!

I’m not really sure why I have such a hard time setting up personal shoots- okay, yes I do.  Taking those photos is my priority, not theirs and I am left to simply wait a little longer for the stars to align.  I have to admit, that I haven’t been the most active at keeping myself busy (in regards to the photos only) and though I’ve got a couple of great excuses- lets face it, excuses are annoying.

Right now, I’m waiting on a new (and rather large) set of postcards and business cards, to help keep me on guard- no more missed opportunities because of my ill-preparedness.  But things are going to change in a big way soon and I’m certain that the direction I’m headed is still very much- up.  After all, photography is taking me to France this July- that’s saying something, right?  I look forward to getting to know all of the people on my horizon, but until then I will continue to shoot, learn, change, and grow all the while.

Kelley Point Park is a place I like to go to, when I need a little break from my neighborhood- it’s only about a 10 minute drive from where I live.  It’s where the Columbia and the Willamette rivers join together.  It’s not hard to find a comfortable place to just sit and watch the ships go by.
